Hi Y'all,
I'm finally taking the plunge into the blogging pool. I plan to post several of my cards I've made for my Stampin' Up classes soon, but for now I'm going to show you a picture of me with two of the aids orphans I was privileged to meet and fall in love with in Kenya, Africa. I went with my church on a mission trip last September to Nairobi and the surrounding areas. These little girls are from the House of Mercy where we got to work with the orphanage and participate in a feeding program. Sharon the little girl on the right was so sweet, I wanted to bring her home with me.
One of my most memorable moments on the trip was when we introduced them to ice cream. Most of the children had never had ice cream before and were not quite sure what to do with it, some tried to put it in their pocket to save it. Of course it melted and made a mess, as you can imagine being in the hot African sun. We explained to them that they had to eat it then because it wouldn't keep. They gave us the name of the "Ice cream mama's and poppa's". I kinda' like being called an ice cream mama :o) Until next time, stamp each day with God's love, Frankie
