Class Projects - Dec 17th

I love this set by Close To My Heart called Snow Friends, Not only was this the set I used for class this week but I also used it to make my personal Christmas cards. I loved the sentiment, "Snow friends come and go with the seasons, but real friends last forever."
Even if I used other stamps to make for my personal cards this year, I incorporated the saying in the design. I'm blessed with a lot of really good friends :o)

Since the Christmas season is filled with so many things, I'm not sure if I'll get around to posting until next year. I hope each of you have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Stamp each day with God's love,
Frankie

Snow and Christmas Cards

We get so little snow here in Cleveland, TN that any little bit is cause for celebration.
Below are a few pics from the snow we received before the temp went back into the 70's again.
I took the next 3 pictures from our deck of the little farm and church behind us.

Here is my little house :o)

The following photos were taken at the nursing home where Joe's mother lives.
I love the picture of the chapel.

The holly looked beautiful in the snow.

A little bird house in the courtyard was covered.

Here are a few cards that I've been playing around with for Christmas.

My Fall Color Tour

Hi Y'all,
Here are some pictures of our Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia and West Virginia vacation. We had a wonderful time even if the weather didn't cooperate! It rained almost everyday and turned cold, a few flurries were spotted. We left home with 42 old and new friends on a bus headed for Lancaster, PA where we toured the Amish farmland and saw, "In The Beginning" at the Millennium Theater. The play/musical was wonderful!
On our 3rd day, we went to Fallingwater, the Frank Loyd Wright house in Mill Run, PA and then on to Pittsburgh. That afternoon we toured the Duquesne Incline built in 1877and took the trip down and back up in one of the old cars. The next morning, we boarded the Gateway Clipper for a cruise, lunch and a show. Then on to Frostburg MD.
Day 5 found us in WV aboard the Potomac Eagle Scenic Rail Excursion for Eagle watching and lunch. I saw lots of eagles but couldn't get them on film. We spent the night in Bridgeport WV and started home the next morning.
We had a great time and I'm looking forward to my next trip :o)

Common Threads Quilt Show

Each year our club works together to make a quilt to be given as the Grand Door Prize at our yearly show. This year we were given an applique snow cottage pattern to work with along with the fabric for the snow. Here is the result below, I think it turned out beautifully! I have a close up of the two squares my mother and I made before they became part of the quilt. This is the quilt square I made. I painted a gray kitty in my window and deer in my yard along with a few bare trees. I also painted the 'end of the logs' on my cabin fabric.

My mother wanted me to paint snowmen in the yard and a calico cat in her window.

Here are a few of the quilts in the show, only a few are represented here.

Above is my mothers "Fancy Sue" quilt. She took 3rd place in the Viewers Choice Category.

The next two are my entries in the Wall Hanging category.
They are hand painted and quilted.

Here are a few of the Christmas entries.

Sampler quilts are among my favorite and I took pics of several.

The green and pink quilt below was part of our club Round Robin. My mother and I did the borders around the center design. I painted the hearts and folk art flowers around the center.

Above is another of my mothers quilts, Bear Paw. I think she won second place in this category.

I loved the animal print shoes and hats!

The quilt above is beautiful, it has such lovely colors. My camera didn't do it justice.
